Welcome to Christenberry Collection! Thank you to all of our loyal followers and friends for making this possible and for your support. We are thrilled to be able to bring together so many talented artists through our new website and social media. My name is Meredith Christenberry, and I am the creator of Christenberry Collection.
My story: For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for art. I was raised in a home where it was just a way of life. My mom started painting when I was six months old. We were living in Houston, TX at the time my dad was in his residency out of medical school and mom and I would paint... ALL THE TIME! We still laugh because she can remember having me in one arm with a paint brush in the other.
We moved to Lafayette, LA when I was four and she started her first business, Moss Miciotto LTD. She and her dear friend Susan Miciotto did quite well with it! They had a studio, did home shows around town etc. I have very fond memories of my brother and me knee deep in bubble wrap and boxes playing after school at her studio. It kind of funny because today my Olivia now loves the bubble wrap and boxes when I am shipping art to you!
In 2003 she sold her business and my family moved to Sumter, SC for my dads job. It was there she started her current business "The Mustard Seed" ceramics. If you haven't seen their beautiful pottery and ceramics, you're missing out. I sometimes do posts on it so be on the lookout and I would put their website up here but it hasn't been updated since Christmas. She and I will have to discuss that at a later date! The basis of her business is encouraging people, like you and me through scripture painted on pottery.
This is what encouraged me to start my business. After graduating from Clemson University in 2004 and 10 years in insurance and medical sales, I decided to pursue my passion where I could spend more time at home with my daughter and have the best of both worlds. And my husband actually believed in me and let me do it. I'm still shocked to this day he went for it and I will forever be grateful to him for that.
In December 2014, I did my first big home show. I spent months painting leading up to it. I called my mom and asked her to do a few pieces for me and of course my moms sister, Amy Dixon sent me her amazing work to sell. This is where it all began. Several of my friends here in town are artists and we got a group together. It evolved from there.
There are lots of other art adventures in between all of this that happened along the way and led me to where I am. I will share those at a later date. I'm heading out the door today for Greenville, NC with my mom and aunt for a show for Amy. Be sure to follow us on instagram for all the details!
