February: Camp Cole

Created by Kayla Cole

Camp Cole.

If you haven't heard about it, keep reading, this is one camp you need to know about.

Cole Sawyer was 11 when he lost his battle with cancer in 2004. While he was alive, he and his family had been able to experience a camp for children who were facing similar health concerns and this experience inspired his parents to build the same type of place for children in Columbia.

Stacy and Scott Sawyer (Cole's parents) and their best friends Deans and Peter Fawcetts worked diligently to develop the plans for Camp Cole. The four had a vision and were determined to make it a reality. In 2016, very unexpectedly, Stacy Sawyer passed away leaving Scott, Deans, and Peter even more determined than ever to see Camp Cole become a reality to honor Cole and his mother.

Since inception, Camp Cole has had the opportunity to begin building state of the art facilities. The daughters of the founding families, Kelsey Sawyer and Margaret Fawcetts-Grantz, have committed their full time careers to Camp Cole, and they are currently developing the final phase of the project so that Camp Cole can officially open their doors.

The month of February, Christenberry Collection is giving a portion of all sales to Camp Cole. We are hoping to bring awareness to the mission behind Camp Cole.
