From Barb, the artist: “I chose to paint these flowers because they were some of my mom’s favorites!   Coming from a large family (8 children). My mom was always busy.  Our family home was in Wisconsin where the winters are long!  Mom so looked forward to spring.  Her daffodils were always  the first to pop up and brighten her table.  The peonies were her all time favorite!   (and I’m blessed to have a shoot from from garden.) of course she grew many pots of geraniums.  Lastly the orchid is from the latter years.  When mom had them on the side table in her room.  She always marveled at how long those blooms lasted.“
