City of Abstraction
Artist: Emma Bell
Dimensions: 30"x25"x1.5"
I called this 'city of abstraction' because it makes me think of a busy city with lots of hustle and bustle, lots of people and bright vibrant lights. I didn't intend for this to be a city scape initially, it evolved that way the more colors and textures I added with my palette knife.
This painting has lots of layers of colors created in oil - some applied thick with my palette knife some scraped off to eliminate top layers and show earlier colors popping through. The finished painting is textured. Some metallic silver used for a dramatic effect. Finished with a varnish to create a smooth gloss finish.
This is painted on a museum quality gallery wrap canvas with 1.5"sides painted mid gray.
